Overview:

We’re hiring for a QA Lead on a 3 month fixed term contract, there is a possibility this role could be extended or made permanent depending on the project and studio requirements.

As Lead QA for Lucid Games you’ll be leading a key part of the development team, working closely with all of our dev team both internally and externally to produce products we’re deeply proud of and make sure our players have the best experience possible.

A Lead QA will have proven aptitude for taking responsibility, and have no qualms in prioritising, delegating and decision making. This person will be a point of contact for projects but also working continuously on levelling up those around them, ensuring the team is working at their full potential, efficiently and are also feeling heard. 

What you’ll do:

  • Be accountable for testing on assigned projects, advocating for the highest quality of our games.

  • Should possess good problem solving, critical thinking, time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Willingness to mentor the QA team, raise others up whilst growing yourself.

  • Be comfortable in clearly communicating and escalating issues or problems.

  • Confidently review existing QA processes, suggesting and implementing improvements.

  • Have experience of the release requirements and process for platforms on the assigned project, have a good understanding of how to support the team in releases from alpha to live-ops.

  • Be autonomous, be comfortable delegating tasks, organise test efforts, assess risks and escalate priority issues clearly to the Producer and QA Manager.

  • Simultaneously manage structured tasks with impromptu requests, and knowing when to deprioritise.

  • Step up effectively in the absence of the QA Manager.

  • Have strong written and verbal skills.

  • Have the ability to zoom out and see things from a high level, be confident in navigating any potential impact to the production process. 

Job requirements

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Proven experience working effectively in an embedded development team.

  • Knowledge of bug reporting workflow, and bug management, and a passion for improving them.

  • Capacity to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience in a lead or senior role with appetite to grow.

  • Someone who is able to produce high quality testplan strategies, reports and risk assessments, and understands their value. 

  • Experience working with titles in early development


What can you expect during the Interview Process:


Our interview process typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on availability is made up of 2 stages:

  • 1st stage (45 minutes) – An informal chat to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our QA team and our Head of Talent. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.

  • Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
